AI Girlfriends Set to Become a Billion-Dollar Industry, Predicts Tech Executive

If Late Checkout CEO Greg Isenberg’s predictions about a billion-dollar artificial intelligence (AI) dating app market come true, the dating scene might be changed for good.

The beginning of conversations

Isenberg told his X followers that while in Miami, he met a 24-year-old single guy who spends $10,000 per month on his AI girlfriends. The man compared playing with his AI girlfriends to playing video games. The unnamed man added that it feels comforting.

While many find this concept bizarre, it was already predicted in numerous movies and books, including Cherry 2000, an 80s flick about a man searching for a duplicate of his android wife. The film was set in 2017, and though we are still not at the point of android wives, it seems like we’re getting there.

Following this Miami meeting, Isenberg predicted that the AI dating scene would blossom. He showed some pictures of stunning women, all AI, and commented how they all looked quite convincing. The tech SEO assured that AI boyfriends exist as well.

Making of a partner

Several platforms are already working on making one’s wishes come to life. Users can create their ideal dates by choosing hair color or length to personality traits. It is an exciting market, and nearly 20% of Americans have already flirted with chatbots.

These platforms work like dating apps

The man from Miami compared his AI girlfriends’ experience to dating apps and confirmed that he’s using more than one platform. Isenberg concluded that Match Group with AI content will be worth at least one billion dollars.

Some platforms are more open than others

One of the platforms for AI boyfriends, Replika, does not allow overly seductive content. However, Nomi.ai allows one’s imagination to run wild. Romance.AI provides technology that imitates real-life interactions among lovers.

Many are curious

A recent Infobip survey found that over 47 percent of Americans are curious about chatbots and interact with them to learn about them. A bit under 24 percent use chatbots because they are lonely and need a companion.

People are reminded of HER

The 2013 movie Her, starring Joaquin Phoenix and Scarlett Johansson, explored romance outside the ordinary. Many predicted that, despite being a Sci-Fi piece, the film would become a reality in a decade or so. And it appears they were right.

Things are about to get confusing

Isenberg commented that things will soon get rather strange, and that’s how many people feel. While people claim to desire real-life connections, we are straying away further, so AI companionship could soon become the new norm. Still, it will take time to adjust to this new reality.

Privacy concerns

Mozilla Privacy Not Included project raised red flags about AI girlfriends and boyfriends, claiming they are harvesting your data. Misha Rykov, a Mozilla Researcher, reminded people that AI partners were not their friends and even stated that their presence would cause mental health decline.

The project investigated 11 AI chatbots

Analysing. Diverse group of co-workers having casual discussion in office. Executives during friendly discussion, month reporting, creative meeting. Concept of business, finance, occupation, job.

All 11 AI romance chatbots Mozilla investigated earned the title ” Privacy Not Included.” This means that your privacy and security are grossly endangered.

Point of no return

Despite these allegations, AI partners likely enter everyday lives. Privacy concerns about numerous apps, especially social media, were raised, yet people can’t get enough of them. If you think dating apps have changed the dating game, just wait until AI partners go mainstream.
